The subsurface provides us with resources, supports our buildings and bears the burden of our waste. In our English to Dutch and Dutch to English translation work for TNO's Geological Survey of the Netherlands, we've encountered all sorts of applications for the world beneath our feet, including models that visualise the link between the subsurface and the surface (BRO's practical examples win international ESRI 3D prize | TNO) and research into gravitational waves via an underground telescope (TNO to study geology for underground Einstein Telescope | TNO). We've also been closely linked to the dissemination of TNO's research, having written video scripts for their expertise groups on Geomodelling, Geo Data & IT and more (Behind the scenes at expertise group Geo Data & IT | TNO).
